About
Leslie Buckman is the founder and principal of Vectura Planning. He has over 30 years of experience in transportation planning and project management, with a strong record in transit and rail project development. Working mostly with the public sector, Leslie has worked extensively for clients in Canada and the United Kingdom, with occasional forays into other countries, including Brazil, Croatia, and Indonesia.
Leslie has strong technical skills in travel demand modeling and Business Case evaluation for all modes (urban transit, rail, and road). In addition to these, he is well versed in the interactions between policy, project specification (including engineering, rail and transit operations, and traffic engineering), ridership forecasting, and evaluation as it affects project development and implementation. He is able to look across all the disciplines involved in project development and navigate a path to an integrated and holistic project outcome. Overarching these, Leslie has strong capabilities in project management, often leading multi-disciplinary and multi-company teams, delivering projects from inception through to completion.
